Cricket has been a major sport in India and people in India follow it with pride and carry their opinions on their sleeves. Cricket and Bollywood have been linked in so many ways in terms of relationships, marriages, and the list goes on.

One latest collaboration which happened was KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya on the coffee couch with Karan Johar.Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul have come under scrutiny after their recent comments in the show Koffee with Karan. Karan Johar invited K L Rahul and Hardik Pandya and what was called as 1st all cricket episode and it made headlines.

karan Johar’s show has been known for getting the star under the limelight irrespective of positive or negative. KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were on the receiving end of the media burst against them.Karan Johar’s show has been known for its magnitude and the topics touched on that show are sensitive and as well as intriguing and the star cricketers fell prey for it.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were asked questions of their personal life, cricketing career, Girlfriends, fantasies, lavish lifestyle and their view on the best in cricket.
Hardik Pandya was more vocal or wanna be the cool guy where he went on to reveal his relationship with the ladies around him. He also said that he is kind of from the black family like the WestIndies when asked about his lifestyle. He said that he lost his virginity and he said that he just lost it and came to his family. He also commented on a situation at a party with his family where he revealed he had a relationship with all the ladies around. He was asked about his expensive lifestyle where he said again that I am like Black people who live their life lavishly and the comments just went on and on. On the other hand, KL Rahul was quiet and did not be in detail of his relationships and revealed that he was partying all night and played the game the next day and scored a 100.
The whole of the cricketing fraternity where in shock when Pandya and Rahul revealed their stories on the national television and some pundits even said that they would not be secure if they are traveling with them on the same bus. Sunil Gavaskar even said “They [the BCCI] have dealt with it [the controversy]. From what I read in the newspapers today, they have sent them back or asked them to come back. That’s a right way to send a signal,” Gavaskar told Sony Six on Saturday.
“If you do things that bring your team and the game into disrepute, then you can’t be part of the team. Of course, the inquiry will then establish what further action, if at all needed, has to be taken.
“They have been asked to come back and I believe it’s the correct step because you can’t have suspended players traveling with the team or staying in the same room. They have got to be kept away. Otherwise, what’s the point of the suspension? If they are going to enjoy the perks of being with the team.”

Fan point of view:

Cricket has been in the blood for most of them in India. We have been following the sport right from the young age. We have our opinions on the game. We discuss the game every day, all year. We know that players do enjoy the perks of traveling and they enjoy the success with the amount of money that they are being paid but their lavish lifestyle revealing on the national television is something that unheard of. We have been lucky to have an all-rounder like Hardik Pandya because he was ticking all boxes required for the team but this outburst has created so much of negative perspective of the player that is hard to imagine. Players do enjoy, players need time off their game but such remarks are hard to hear. When the whole of the world is fighting against racism and Pandya said that he is from the Black family is disheartening. Players have changed their lifestyle because they want to be fit, they want to play cricket as long as they can, Players are fighting for their places day in day out especially the Indian team where the bench strength is so humungous. Rahul had a failure in test in England and now in Australia and was still picked for ODI’s but after this episode, he has been suspended for the rest of the tour with Hardik. They are playing for the country because they are capable of but such comments and behavior is not acceptable especially in a country where people follow the sport like a religion. Players are tied up with contracts from the BCCI and they have to abide by the rules and regulations of the contract and that has been bought under the scrutiny as well. Will we see more rules which tie the players from not doing that mistakes again? Will wait.
