Jose Mourinho Sacked. Does it solve the problems for Manchester united?

Manchester United have sacked Jose Mourinho in the middle of the season. The club has decided to part ways with the head coach of the first team with immediate effect. Jose Mourinho has been sacked after the loss to Liverpool at Anfield 3-1.

Club has said in a statement

“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect,” a statement read.

“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

Jose took over Man Utd in 2016 from Louis Van Gaal. He won 2 trophies with Utd. League cup and Europa league. Manchester United finished 6th in his 1st season with 2 trophies and 2nd in 2nd season without any trophies and they are currently in 6th position and 19 points adrift from the league leaders Liverpool and 12 points from top 4.

Jose Mourinho’s comments after the game against Liverpool.

“We couldn’t cope with their fantastic intensity in the first 20 minutes, after that we were calm. They were really frustrated with their center-backs shooting into the stands, at that moment the goals came.

“If you want to speak about fortunate then you speak about their second and third goal. Our goal was the result of good action. Their keeper made what I call a half mistake.”

“What do you mean by fix? By winning the title? Of course not. We can still finish fourth.

“It’s not easy but for sure for sure we’re going to finish in the top six like all the other historically top teams, but the best we can get is fourth. Now we have to look to the fifth and probably later the fourth.”

Do you think the squad is with you? Have you got the backing of the whole dressing room? Are they playing for you?
“What is that? Are you calling the players dishonest? You are asking me if they are dishonest.”

No, I’m asking you an honest question – do you believe these Manchester United players are giving you 100% because they believe in you?

“I believe they are honest and you believe they are dishonest. A footballer has to give the maximum every day, every match, every minute, it doesn’t matter the manager, it doesn’t matter anything.

“The club that plays him, the fans that are 24 hours per day in love with our club. It’s about respect for the club and the fans. The players that don’t do the maximum you are calling them dishonest. I don’t call them dishonest at all.

“The players that were on the pitch gave everything. Liverpool are a better team, their intensity, we cannot compare their physicality and based on that intensity and physicality then the technical qualities come up and Liverpool is better than us.

“But in spite of that, we were in the game until we concede the third. I repeat at the moment where the most probable result was a draw but as many chances as them to win the game in the last 15 or 20 minutes.”.

His team’s performance has been to the mark which was expected. He needed a Center Back this season but he was not backed by the club. His new signings were poor. He was not getting the best out of the players he had. He went on the media openly criticizing the likes of Paul Pogba, Martial, Luke Shaw and list goes on. Club-like Manchester United with their status would not have loved to see their manager criticizing own players in the media.

The fall is real. Every team in the premier league improved this season but United did not they went down the hill and there is no coming back from that place. Will sacking Jose Mourinho bring the fortunes back to united in the mid-season? I don’t think so. Its dark days for United but there is light after every tunnel.
