Exclusion of Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh pant from the world cup squad 2019 had some eyebrows raised but Manoj Tiwary had some different opinion.
Manoj Tiwary currently not in the mainstream cricket like in the IPL or in the national side. He questioned Kolkata Knight Riders treatment to the promising start, Shubman Gill.
Shubman Gill is a promising young star in the Indian domestic circuit. He came through the ranks of U-19 cricket like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant. He was recently included in the Indian squad in New Zealand after the controversy that happened with KL Rahul. He has shown a lot of promises in the current season of IPL.
When the team was about to be announced for the world cup 2019. KKR did not open the batting with Shubman Gill instead, they opened their batting with Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. The game before that, Shubman Gill had opened the innings and had scored 65 with great composure. No doubt that he is an exceptional talent.
Manoj Tiwary took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the snub. He said “Is #ShubmanGill playing dis match ?? Oh, now I understand tomorrow is d World Cup selection Who says it’s a team game ?? Sometimes it’s quite obvious to d eyes”.
He continued “When someone has played classy innings of 65 runs in d previous game than I as a cricket fan want that player to play higher up d order especially wen d team has lost a game. It’s about providing d platform 4 our domestic players to bat higher order ahead of overseas players”.
Subman GIll is surely the player that Indian team is looking for in the future. He has scored loads of runs in the domestic circuit for Punjab. He has been rated highly. Was he in contention for the world cup squad?. We personally feel that when a young player is performing well and has the confidence to put up a show on the big stage then he should be given a chance over the overseas players. Indian cricket has to grow. We need players like Shubman Gill for the future and KKR should be managing him well by giving him some good amount of game time at the top order.
