Warner reborn: Is Warner hungry for runs like never before??

Share

Warner has been going all guns blazing in this edition of the IPL. The form in which he is in the tournament seems like it will take some doing to get his wicket. We all have been familiar with the way he scores his runs. Remember the season in which Virat Kohli and he were just playing with the bowlers? were he scored mountains of runs precisely, 779 in just 16 games at an avg of 59.92 at a strike rate of 149.23.

2018 was a difficult year for Australian cricket and for David Warner. After being banned after the ball tampering incident which happened in South Africa David Warner has come back strong leaving behind all the tough times he had to face from the media and the board. Sunrisers Hyderabad trusted him and they retained him for the 2019 season and the fruits are paying off. With just 20 games into the tournament. Warner’s come back to the domestic circuit is incredible. Scoring 254 runs in 3 innings with a strike rate of 170 looks like he wants to score two IPL’S quotas in this single edition. In his last innings, he scored a century and was such a treat to watch him take on the bowlers with ease be it nudging the ball into the gaps for ones and twos or even clearing the circle to score some boundaries. He seems to be just like a machine gun which doesn’t run out of ammo.

He looks little leaner than ever before looks like he has spent a lot in the gym in serving the ban period. The manner in which he scored against all the three opponents was like old Warner going after bowling, muscling them all over the ground. In the match against Rajasthan royal, he made a quick 50 within powerplay whereas against RCB he played a sheet anchors role and completed the century in last over. The opening partnership set the tone of SRH as he made 85 runs at a strike rate of 160+ and what amazed was that he never looked like he has been out of cricket for a year. Such a great timing and placement looks like he will the major contender for Orange Cap in IPL 2019. He’s the man to watch out for in this edition of the IPL and for the upcoming 50 over world cup.

Justin Langer quoted that “David Warner will train like Rocky Balboa for his successful return” no wonder he knew about this before.
